Horizon League student-athletes once again demonstrated their commitment to community service as members from the League’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) volunteered their time with children from Forest Manor Multi-Service Center.

In recognition of success in the classroom by its participants, the Horizon League honored 729 student-athletes on Tuesday (July 27) as members of the 2010 Horizon League Spring Academic Honor Roll.

Through the completion of the winter sports season, Butler and Milwaukee are tied for the lead in the James J. McCafferty Trophy standings in the race for the Horizon League's 2009-10 all-sports championship.

Lee Reed, who guided the Cleveland State athletic department to an unprecedented level of all around success over the last eight years, will leave his position as athletic director at Cleveland State next month in order to become the director of athletics at Georgetown University.

In an effort to better brand the conference and its 10 member institutions, the Horizon League recently unveiled a permanent sign that resides on the southwest corner of the Pan Am Plaza building in downtown Indianapolis. 

Today was the final day of competition at the Horizon League Swimming and Diving Championships. After three days, I thought I had my expectation in check, and I did, until the evening rolled around.
