Milwaukee’s Jeremy Waldhart and Valparaiso’s Jackie Kondratko honored

Saturday's match up between the Penguins of Youngstown State and the Detroit Titans, officially ended the first ever HLN Student Section Challenge Tour.

One of the most memorable and special events for a student-athlete is when he/she competes on his/her home turf for the last time – a.k.a. Senior Day.

Stop number seven on the HLN Student Section Challenge Tour brought me to the Wolstein Center on the campus of Cleveland State University. The Vikings were looking to repeat their 2009 Championship performance and upset the League's top team in Butler.

The HLN Student Section Challenge Tour stopped at the ARC on the campus of Valparaiso University on Saturday as the Crusaders played host to then second-place Detroit. Over 3,600 fans and 500-plus students were on hand to witness this epic battle as Valpo ultimately triumphed, 74-70.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the signs of a great student section is the amount of impact they have on the game.

Stop number four on the HLN Student Section Challenge Tour brought me to UIC as the Flames hosted # 20 Butler for a Saturday afternoon match up.

When the HLN Student Section Challenge was in its developmental stages, I would sit and wonder what the winning section would look and feel like. I envisioned thousands of students yelling and chanting the entire game and most importantly having an actual impact on the game.

The second tour date of the HLN Student Section Challenge brought me to Milwaukee and the Panther Student Section. Milwaukee upended their in-state rival Green Bay by a final a score of 71-51.
