Thornton averaged 21.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals in a pair of Horizon League road victories last week. She knocked down 16-of-26 (.615) from the field and 10-of-12 (.833) from the free-throw line. Thornton recently became the third Butler player in history to earn Horizon League Player of the Year accolades. She ranks among the conference leaders in scoring (2nd, 15.7), blocks (2nd, 1.7), rebounding (3rd, 8.3), steals (3rd, 2.3) and field-goal percentage (7th, .531).

Hoenecke picks up Batter of the Week accolades after going 9-for-14 (.643) with six doubles, one homer, seven runs and nine RBI in five games last week. He also registered a 1.286 slugging percentage and .667 on-base percentage for the Panthers. The infielder recorded three multi-hit efforts during the stretch and now owns a .484 season average. He went 3-for-3 with five RBI on Saturday in a victory over SIU-Edwardsville.

Kaminsky notches Pitcher of the Week honors after allowing just one run over seven innings on Friday in Wright State's 2-1 upset of top-ranked Virginia. He issued just one walk and scattered seven hits while striking out seven for the Raiders. The right-hander helped WSU knock off the nation's top collegiate baseball team for a second straight campaign. The Raiders also topped #1 Georgia on March 24, 2009.
Softball

Thomas went 7-for-13 (.538) on the week and recorded four triples in four games. In the Penguins' 12-0 rout over South Carolina State last Friday, Thomas tallied four hits, including two triples. She slugged at a 1.231 percentage and owned a .625 on-base percentage as YSU went 2-2 on the week.
Her four triples already rank tied for third on Youngstown State's single-season triples chart.
Softball Pitcher

Cooney did not allow a run in eight innings spanning two appearances as Green Bay swept a three-game series at Youngstown State University over the weekend. She fired a four-hit shutout with nine strikeouts and only one walk in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader. On Sunday, Cooney recorded her second save of the season, tossing a scoreless frame with one strikeout in a 6-4 victory. Cooney's award is the first of her career and the first by a Green Bay softball player since the final week of the 2007 season.
