The Valparaiso men's soccer team saw its 2012 campaign come to a close on Friday, as the Crusaders fell 1-0 to Cleveland State in Horizon League Championship semifinal action in Detroit, Mich.

Loyola University Chicago men's soccer continued to defend its 2011 Horizon League Championship on Friday afternoon as the Ramblers defeated top-seeded Detroit, 1-0, in the semifinals of the Horizon League Tournament. Nick Sanchez had the game-winner for Loyola, notching his second goal of the tournament in the 53rd minute.

DETROIT (11/9/12)  -- Detroit's men's soccer team fell 1-0, to Loyola in the Horizon League Semifinals to end the 2012 season at Titan Field on Friday afternoon.

Senior Jaymie Bullard (Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) headed home a cross from close range just 22 seconds before halftime Tuesday evening, the only goal #4 Valparaiso would need as it downed #5 Milwaukee 1-0 in a Horizon League Championship quarterfinal at Brown Field. The win advances the Crusaders to the semifinals, where they will take on #2 Cleveland State in Detroit on Friday morning at 10 a.m. CST.

Freshman Ryan Howe scored his first career goal at just the right time this season, helping the Ramblers defeat UIC in the first round of the Horizon League Tournament with the game-winner in the 82nd minute. It was a team effort as Loyola University Chicago played the Flames in dominating fashion, with four players scoring goals as the backline held off a charging UIC offense.

It was a fitting end to the regular season for Loyola University Chicago men's soccer as the Ramblers defeated Wright State, 4-3, to advance to the Horizon League Tournament Quarterfinals. Senior Nick Sanchez headlined the night, scoring his first goal this season while Dane Bergstrom, Andrew Raymonds and Reed Patterson each notched a goal of their own to help the Ramblers to the win.

The Green Bay (2-10-4, 0-4-3 HL) men's soccer team closed its 2012 season with a 1-1 double overtime tie against Horizon League regular season runner-up Cleveland State (9-5-3, 4-1-2 HL) Saturday at Aldo Santaga Stadium. The game marked the program-high sixth double overtime contest this season for the Phoenix.

The Cleveland State Vikings' men's soccer team ended the regular season Saturday afternoon playing to a 1-1 draw against the Green Bay Phoenix on the road.
