An 8-0 run with six minutes to play allowed the men's basketball team to break away from a two-point lead en route to a 50-41 Horizon League victory at Cleveland State Wednesday night.

The Valparaiso men's basketball team led Loyola by 15 points at the halftime Tuesday night in Chicago, Ill., and after the Ramblers had rallied to tie the game in the second half, the Crusaders scored on 11 straight possessions as Valpo downed Loyola by a final score of 85-76. With the win, the Crusaders clinch at least the third seed and a first-round bye in the Horizon League Championship.

A spirited second-half rally helped Loyola University Chicago (14-13, 4-10 Horizon) erase what was a 17-point deficit in the first half to tie the game at 51, but the Ramblers were unable to push past Horizon League leader Valparaiso (21-7, 11-3 Horizon) as they fell to the Crusaders, 85-76, tonight at Gentile Arena.

Panoske, UWM (6-22, 2-12 Horizon) led 41-39, but the Vikings (13-15, 5-9) offense then exploded to go on a 29-8 run to open the game up and take a commanding 68-49 lead.

Green Bay (15-12, 9-5 HL) outrebounded Youngstown State (15-12, 7-7 HL) 39-24, held the Penguins to their lowest point total of the season and used a 15-3 second half run sparked by sophomore Keifer Sykes (Chicago, Ill.) to cruise to a 71-54 road win at the Beeghly Center. Sykes scored 19 second-half points for the second-straight game, finishing with 24 points to spark the Phoenix to a third-straight win.
