The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's track and field team posted strong results across the board including five all-time top-10 performances and beat all four universities at the Gateway Invitational at Korte Stadium Saturday.UWM beat Wisconsin 107-24, Chicago State 120-27, Western Illinois 98-68 and host SIU-Edwardsville 85-75.

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's tennis team dropped the doubles point for just the second time in its last 16 matches and could never get over the hump in singles play in dropping a heartbreaking 4-3 decision at Detroit Saturday night. A win would have given Milwaukee (12-9, 4-3 Horizon) a best-ever second-place finish in the league. Instead, the Panthers will be the fifth seed in the upcoming league tournament and will likely face a rematch with Detroit to open the postseason.

Senior Dan Simon of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee track & field program posted two more personal records and won the decathlon in cold and windy conditions at the storied Kansas Relays at Memorial Stadium Thursday."Dan and Shelby both were great this week," Milwaukee head coach Pete Corfeld said. "Competing at Kansas and in this historic stadium is a pretty big deal and our kids went there to win and they came out with very good results."Simon started day two of the multi event with a personal-best time of 15.91 seconds in the 110m hurdles for third place overall. He also recorded a PR in the javelin competition with a toss of 139 feet, 6 inches (42.51m).

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee baseball team jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the third, but was outscored 7-1 the remainder of the game in falling to Saint Louis 8-4 Sunday afternoon at Billiken Sports Center.The Panthers (12-15) scored first for the third-straight game, but for the second-straight day allowed the Billikens (25-11) to tie the score in the bottom half of the inning. Seven walks, two hit batters and three errors doomed Milwaukee, as the offense led the hit column 12-10.

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's tennis team celebrated Senior Day with a 7-0 win over Wright State Sunday at North Shore Elite. All three of Milwaukee's seniors won their singles matches and the Panthers again claimed the doubles point in winning for the third-straight time. Milwaukee now heads into its final regular season league match at Detroit next week knowing a win would land it no worse than second in the final standings, a spot that would mark the highest finish in school history.

Samia Taylor finished runner-up in one event, Dan Simon and one relay team moved up on the all-time top-10 school record list and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's and women's track & field teams had an third-straight impressive day at the Sea Ray Relays at Tom Black Track Saturday."It was another good day for us to really wrap up this meet well," Milwaukee head coach Pete Corfeld said. "I'm obviously really pleased with both 4x4 relays. The men's DMR was really competitive. It was nice to see Samia out there competing again and for a win, no less. We had good results all around. It was a good taste of a big meet and it helps us keep raising our level for weeks to come."

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee baseball team scored once and then loaded the bases in the ninth, but could not push across the tying run in falling to Saint Louis 4-2 Saturday afternoon at the Billiken Sports Center.The Panthers (13-15) scored a single run in the first, but conceded a pair of runs to the Billikens (24-11) in the bottom half of the inning and two more in the seventh to fall behind. Milwaukee had won the series opener on Friday 4-0 and will go for the series win in the rubber match Sunday. First pitch is scheduled for noon.

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's tennis team rolled through singles and doubles play en route to a 7-0 win over Chicago State Saturday at North Shore Elite. The Panthers (11-8) won all three of the doubles contests by identical 8-1 scores and then won five of the six singles matches in straight sets. Doubles action saw Maddy Soule and Christina Colarossi set the tone by winning for the 28th time this season.

Long scattered five hits on the way to his third shutout and fourth complete-game of the season, guiding the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee baseball team to a 4-0 win over St. Louis Friday evening at the Billiken Sports Center.The Panthers (13-14) snapped SLU's (23-11) six-game winning streak behind Long's (5-2) dominating performance. They also got timely hitting, as Michael Porcaro went 2-for-4 and drove in the game's first runs with a two-run single in the third.

Phil Lipari had eight hits and seven RBIs over the three-game set.
