BOSTON – A trio of Horizon League men’s basketball student-athletes were placed on the 2018-19 Lou Henson All-America Team on Friday as Detroit Mercy’s Antoine Davis, Wright State’s Loudon Love and Northern Kentucky’s Drew McDonald made the list.

The Lou Henson All-America Team is presented annually to the nation's top mid-major players in Division I College Basketball.

Davis, the Horizon League Freshman of the Year and an All-Horizon League first team selection, has also been named a finalist for the Kyle Macy Award and the USBWA Wayman Tisdale Award. He broke the Horizon League’s freshman scoring record and is the first HL freshman to record over 700 points. Davis also broke Stephen Curry’s NCAA record for most 3-pointers in a season by a freshman and finished the season with 132 triples. Davis led the Horizon League and ranks third in the nation at 26.1 points per game, while also ranking top-15 in the country in 3-pointers per game (4.40) and field goals (263). He also finished top-10 during HL play in assists per game at 3.5. Davis is the only freshman to make the Lou Henson All-America Team.

Love, an All-Horizon League first team selection and last year’s Freshman of the Year, ranked seventh during Horizon League play in scoring with 16.6 points second in rebounds with 7.6 per game, including a League-best 3.6 offensive boards. Overall this season, the sophomore finished top-10 in the HL in points, rebounds, field goal percentage and blocked shots. Love finished second in the Horizon League with 12 double-doubles on the season as he led the Raiders to a share of their first regular season title since 2006-07.

McDonald, the Horizon League Player of the Year and an AP All-American Honorable Mention honoree, finished Horizon League play ranking second in the HL in scoring at 20.1 points per game while also finishing tops in rebounds at 9.7 per game. Overall this season, he registered nine 20-point games with two 30-point performances, and also 14 double-digit rebound games, including a 20-rebound performance against UIC. McDonald was a double-double machine this season finishing with a League-best 13 double-doubles, including the first triple-double by an NKU player since 2001. He ends his career as NKU’s all-time leading scorer and eighth on the HL’s all-time scoring list with 2,066 points and first in program history in rebounds with 1,081.

Lou Henson coached for 41 years and accumulated 779 Division I wins, which ranked sixth all-time when he left the game in 2005. Henson is also one of only 12 coaches to take two schools to the Final Four.
