Nike #HLMBB Players of the Week (February 4)
INDIANAPOLIS – UIC’s Tarkus Ferguson helped the Flames pick up two big home wins as he led the HL in assists and scored 19 points per game to be named Nike® #HLMBB Player of the Week, while Youngstown State’s Darius Quisenberry averaged 18.5 points en route to a pair of impressive road victories to earn Nike® #HLMBB Freshmen of the Week as the Horizon League announced its men’s basketball weekly honors on Monday.

Tarkus Ferguson | UIC | Junior | Guard | Belleville, Ill.
Ferguson did a bit of everything for the Flames last week as he averaged 19.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 6.5 assists per game, to help UIC take down second-place Wright State and first-place Northern Kentucky at home. The Belleville, Ill., native began the weekend scoring 17 points as he shot 58 percent from the floor, adding five rebounds, five assists and two steals against Wright State on Friday in a 14-point win. Ferguson followed that up on Sunday nearly picking up his second triple-double of the season against Northern Kentucky behind 19 points, nine rebounds and eight assists. He also picked up the 500th rebound of his career and assisted on Jamie Ahale’s game-winning 3-pointer with 2.5 seconds to go in regulation. For the weekend, he shot almost 52 percent from the floor and 41.7 percent from beyond the arc while leading the HL in assists and finishing top-10 in points and rebounds.
#HLMBB Freshman of the Week
Darius Quisenberry | Youngstown State | Freshman | Guard | Springfield, Ohio
Quisenberry led the Penguins to a perfect 2-0 record last week with road wins at Oakland and Detroit Mercy. He averaged 18.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.0 steals per game while shooting 48.1 percent from the floor. Quisenberry scored a game-high 23 points on 9-of-15 shooting with five rebounds and five assists against the Golden Grizzlies in a 75-74 victory. On Saturday, he scored 14 points with four rebounds and four assists in the 72-70 win over the Titans. He ended the week leading the League in steals, holding an assist-to-turnover ratio 4.5 and finished top-10 in points and assists.
