INDIANAPOLIS – Week nine of #HLWBB play came to a close on Sunday as Wright State and Northern Kentucky each earned home victories.

Wright State 70, Youngstown State 65
Wright State remained in first-place in the #HLWBB standings and improved to 14-2 in League play with a 70-65 home win over Youngstown State on Sunday afternoon. Senior Emily Vogelpohl led the Raiders with 20 points while fellow senior Symone Simmons added a double-double, collecting 21 rebounds and ten points. Mackenzie Taylor also scored ten points for WSU and Angel Baker added 14 points. Mary Dunn was the leading scorer for the Penguins, totaling 18 points, while McKenah Peters and Sarah Cash totaled 12 points each for YSU. WSU controls its own destiny for the regular season title and number one seed, needing two wins at Detroit Mercy and Oakland to lock up the top spot. YSU will close out the regular season at Cleveland State on Saturday, before hosting a quarterfinal game on March 6.
Northern Kentucky 74, Cleveland State 55
Northern Kentucky earned its second straight win and improved to 8-8 in League play with a 74-55 home victory over Cleveland State on Sunday afternoon. Taylor Clos was the leading scorer for the Norse, totaling 17 points. Jazmyne Geist scored 14 for NKU and Molly Glick added 13. Three Vikings scored in double figures. Savanna Crockett led CSU with 12 points and Mariah Miller and Rachel Slaney scored ten points each. Northern Kentucky will close out the regular season at Oakland and Detroit Mercy in week ten, while CSU will host Youngstown State on Saturday afternoon.

MOTOR CITY MADNESS
The 2019 Little Caesars Horizon League Basketball Championships will begin March 5-6 at highest seeds and will culminate with the semifinal and championship games on March 11-12 at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit. Tickets for the semifinals and championship are
