#HLMBB Player of the Week
Drew McDonald | Northern Kentucky | Senior | Forward | Cold Spring, Ky.
McDonald claims his fifth weekly honor of the season and moves into a tie for third place all-time with nine career selections. He averaged 20.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game in leading Northern Kentucky to a 2-0 record against Detroit Mercy and Oakland. The senior forward was extremely efficient, shooting 71 percent of his field-goal attempts (17-of-24) and converting 64 percent (7-of-11) from distance. McDonald posted his league-leading 12th double-double of the season with 21 points and 13 rebounds in Saturday's win against Oakland, knocking down 9-of-15 field goals in the game. Against Detroit Mercy, McDonald made 8-of-9 field-goal attempts en route to 20 points, eight rebounds and five assists in just 21 minutes on the court. With his first rebound of the game against Detroit Mercy, McDonald registered his 1,000th-career board. He is only the sixth player in the 40-year history of the Horizon League to secure 1,000 rebounds and just the 9th active player in DI basketball with 1,000 rebounds.
