INDIANAPOLIS – The first half of #HLWBB play came to a close on Sunday with Wright State improving to 8-1 in the standings, while Northern Kentucky earned its fourth League win.

Northern Kentucky 72, Oakland 50
Northern Kentucky earned a 72-50 home win over Oakland on Sunday to improve to 4-5 in Horizon League play. Ally Niece led the Norse with 17 points, Molly Glick scored 16, and Emmy Souder added ten points. Nikita Telesford paced the Golden Grizzlies with 15 points and six rebounds.
Wright State 78, Detroit Mercy 59
Wright State maintained sole possession of first-place in the #HLWBB standings (8-1) with a 78-59 win versus Detroit Mercy on Saturday afternoon. Four Raiders posted double-digit scoring performances, led by 16 points from Mackenzie Taylor and a double-double from Symone Simmons (twelve points, eleven rebounds). Jiera Shears was the leading scorer for the Titans, posting 16 points.

MOTOR CITY MADNESS
The 2019 Little Caesars Horizon League Basketball Championships will begin March 5-6 and will culminate with the semifinal and championship games on March 11-12 at Detroit’s Little Caesars Arena. The 2019 men’s and women’s championship games will take place on Tuesday, March 12 with the men playing at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN or ESPN2 and the women starting at noon ET on ESPNU. Tickets for the semifinals and championship go on-sale on February 1. Once quarterfinal games conclude on March 5 and 6, fan section information for participating teams will be announced.
