INDIANAPOLIS – Northern Kentucky is now tied for first place in the #HLMBB standings after a win on Thursday, while Wright State, IUPUI and Milwaukee each tallied wins to start Week 4 of League action.

Northern Kentucky 91, Cleveland State 76
The Norse improved to 5-1 in HL play after a 91-76 win at Cleveland State on Thursday from the Wolstein Center. NKU had four players finish with at least 17 points led by Tyler Sharpe totaling 23 points on 7-of-9 shooting with five triples and Drew McDonald with his 10th double-double of the year with 19 points and 15 boards. Freshman Rashad Williams scored a team-high 23 points for the Vikings on 5-of-9 shooting from behind the arc.

Wright State 80, Youngstown State 74
WSU used a balanced scoring attack and a perfect night from the free-throw line to pick up a road win on Thursday at Youngstown State, 80-74. Bill Wampler and Malachi Smith tied for a team-high 17 points, while Mark Hughes added 16 and Loudon Love tallied 15. The Raiders finished 18-for-18 from the charity stripe and it marks the best free-threw performance in a League contest since Milwaukee went 20-for-20 against Green Bay in 2009. YSU had a game-high 18 points come from Darius Quisenberry on 7-of-10 shooting from the floor with five rebounds and three assists.

IUPUI 76, Green Bay 70
IUPUI earned a road win at Green Bay on Thursday and got back to .500 in #HLMBB play with a 76-70 victory. Five Jaguars finished in double figures with D.J. McCall leading the way with 18 points and eight rebounds followed by Camron Justice with 16. Green Bay’s Sandy Cohen III finished the night with a game-high 22 points and eight boards, while JayQuan McCloud added 18 points as the Phoenix have now dropped their last three games.

Milwaukee 81, UIC 69
The Panthers picked up a 12-point win at home over UIC to improve to 3-3 in Horizon League play on Thursday. DeAndre Abram had a huge game for MKE as he registered his sixth double-double of the season with 19 points and 16 rebounds to lead five Milwaukee players that scored in double figures. The Flames were led by Marcus Ottey with 18 points and Tarkus Ferguson with 16 as the Flames shot under 30 percent (10-35) from 3-point range in the loss.

The 2019 Little Caesars Horizon League Basketball Championships will begin March 5-6 and will culminate with the semifinal and championship games on March 11-12 at Detroit’s Little Caesars Arena.
