INDIANAPOLIS – Detroit Mercy and IUPUI earned #HLWBB wins on Sunday to close out the third week of League play.

Detroit Mercy 42, UIC 36
Detroit Mercy earned its first League win on Sunday with a 42-36 victory at UIC. Zoey Oatis led the Titans with a double-double, scoring 16 points alongside 13 rebounds, and adding six steals. Brittany Byrd was the leading scorer for the Flames with eleven points.
IUPUI 82, Oakland 53
IUPUI completed a 2-0 week and moved to 4-2 in #HLWBB play after defeating visiting Oakland 82-53 in the Jungle. Macee Williams posted 22 points for the Jags while Katelyn O’Reilly added a double-double with 13 points and eleven rebounds. Oakland was led by 13 points each from Kahlaijah Dean and Taylor Jones.

MOTOR CITY MADNESS
The 2019 Little Caesars Horizon League Basketball Championships will begin March 5-6 and will culminate with the semifinal and championship games on March 11-12 at Detroit’s Little Caesars Arena. The 2019 men’s and women’s championship games will take place on Tuesday, March 12 with the men playing at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN or ESPN2 and the women starting at noon ET on ESPNU. Tickets for the semifinals and championship go on-sale on February 1. Once quarterfinal games conclude on March 5 and 6, fan section information for participating teams will be announced.
State-of-the-art Little Caesars Arena, winner of the 2018 SBJ Facility of the Year, is located in The District Detroit — a vibrant area full of restaurants, bars, parks, and other destinations.
