(March 15, 2018) — 14th-seeded Wright State saw its 2017-18 season come to a close in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament as the Raiders suffered a 73-47 setback to third-seeded Tennessee on Thursday afternoon in Dallas. Redshirt freshmen Loudon Love (12 points, 9 rebounds) and Everett Winchester (11 points) scored in double figures for Wright State. Tennessee’s Lamonte Turner led all scorers with 19 points, while teammate Admiral Schofield notched a double-double with 15 points and 12 boards.

Picked by preseason polls to finish fifth in the Horizon League, the Wright State men's basketball proved many outsiders wrong by advancing to the first round of the 2018 NCAA Tournament in Dallas, TX at the American Airlines Center to play Tennessee Thursday afternoon.  The Raiders took a 73-47 loss though the accomplishments of the record-setting 25-win season will last forever.
