Wright State draws Tennessee in NCAA Tournament

(March 11, 2018) — The 2018 Horizon League Champion Wright State men's basketball team will play #3 Tennessee in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Dallas on Thursday. A time will be announced Monday.
The Raiders, making their third Division I NCAA Tournament appearance, were a number two seed in the Horizon League Tournament and went onto to defeat Green Bay, Milwaukee and Cleveland State in the Championship game. Senior
Grant Benzinger, who has led the Raiders in scoring all season, was named the Most Valuable Player of the Tournament as freshman
Loudon Love was selected to the All-Tournament Team. For the regular season, Benzinger was named First-Team, Love to the Second Team and Freshman of the Year and junior
Mark Hughes was placed on the All-Defensive Team. Head coach
Scott Nagy was named the Horizon League Coach of the Year.
Wright State, which set a school record with 25 wins, also appeared in the 1993 tournament (16 seed) when they met Indiana and 2007 tournament (14 seed) against Pittsburgh. This is the first meeting in school history with the Volunteers.
