Leading the team to a 2-0 record in the final weekend of the regular season, Cohen III shot a sizzling 20-for-31 (64.5 percent) combined in the two games and also went 21-for-25 at the free throw line. The Seymour, Wis., native recorded a double-double with 11 rebounds at Oakland, and nearly notched another one on Saturday against the Titans finishing with eight rebounds. Jalen Tate | Northern Kentucky | R-Fr. | Forward | Pickerington, Ohio
Tate, Northern Kentucky’s defensive stalwart, helped the Norse to a perfect 3-0 week and outright Horizon League crown. The Pickerington, Ohio, native amassed three consistent performances, highlighted by a nine-point, six-rebound, three-assist outing in Friday night’s win at UIC that guaranteed Northern Kentucky at least a share of the regular-season title. He also recorded a block and a steal in the victory. Tate closed the week with nine points, three steals, and a block against IUPUI as the Norse clinched the league’s regular-season championship outright. On the defensive end, Tate helped the Norse limit each of their three opponents last week to 40 percent or less shooting from the field — Youngstown State (33 percent), UIC (40 percent), and IUPUI (30 percent).
