INDIANAPOLIS – In the fourth week of the #HLWBB season, Milwaukee, IUPUI, Wright State, and Youngstown State picked up nonconference victories.
#HLWBB NEWS & NOTES
• In this week’s NCAA RPI report, the Horizon League ranks 16th out of 32 Division I conferences. IUPUI remains the highest ranked Horizon League women’s basketball team at 42. Green Bay is also in the top-50 at 49.
• Youngstown State’s Alison Smolinski led #HLWBB in scoring for the week, posting 29 points in a road win at Canisius. The senior made nine three-pointers, breaking the YSU school record in that category. The guard ranks fourth in the nation with 31 three-point field goals made this season.
• Wright State’s Angel Baker led the way for the Raiders offensively in their win over Kent State on Sunday, while seniors Symone Simmons and Emily Vogelpohl each posted double-digit rebounds in the contest.
• Milwaukee posted a win over Purdue Fort Wayne on Saturday, putting up 70 points while allowing 48, including a three-point first quarter. Freshmen Sydney Levy and Megan Walstad each put up double-digit scoring efforts in the victory.
• IUPUI traveled to Indiana State on Monday and claimed a five-point road win. Macee Williams led the scoring for the Jags with 18 points, while three other Jags, Holly Hoopingarner, Sydney Roule, and Tamya Sims also scored in double figures.
