Nike #HLMBB Players of the Week (December 31)
INDIANAPOLIS – Northern Kentucky’s Drew McDonald recorded back-to-back double-doubles to open League play including grabbing 20 rebounds in a game to be named Nike® #HLMBB Player of the Week, while Detroit Mercy’s Antoine Davis averaged 22 points on eight 3-pointers in two victories to earn Nike® #HLMBB Freshman of the Week as the Horizon League announced its men’s basketball weekly honors on Monday.

Drew McDonald | Northern Kentucky | Senior | Forward | Cold Spring, Ky.
McDonald is the first HL player this season to earn back-to-back Player of the Week honors as he collects his fourth of the season and is now tied for the fifth-most all-time weekly honors with eight. The senior led NKU to a 2-0 start in the League with a pair of double-doubles, averaging 21.5 points and 16.0 rebounds per game. McDonald began #HLMBB play registering 24 points and 12 rebounds in Friday night’s 92-77 win over IUPUI. He followed that up with 19 points and a career-high 20 rebounds in a 73-58 win over UIC. He became the first Norse to register a 20-rebound game since Dec. 18, 1972, the second year of the program and is the first HL player since Norris Cole in 2011 to record 20 boards. McDonald now has eight double-doubles, including four in a row. He also has 16 double-doubles in the last 22 games against Horizon League opponents dating back to March 7, 2017.
#HLMBB Freshman of the Week
Antoine Davis | Detroit Mercy | Freshman | Guard | Birmingham, Ala.
Davis makes it four #HLMBB Freshman of the Week honors this season as he averaged 22.0 points, 4.5 assists and 3.0 rebounds per game as the Titans swept both matchups last week to start HL play. He started the League season by netting his ninth 20-point game of the year with a game-high 27 in a 76-66 win at Youngstown State, draining seven 3-pointers in the process. At Cleveland State, Davis led the team again with 17 points and a game-high six assists in a 73-61 victory against the Vikings. The Titans are one of three HL teams to start the opening weekend of HL play 2-0. Davis continues to lead the nation in made 3-pointers with 68 on the year.
