INDIANAPOLIS – With just nine days until the start of #HLWBB play, teams will wrap up their non-league slates this week.
#HLWBB NEWS & NOTES
• In Monday’s NCAA RPI report, the Horizon League ranks 14th out of 32 Division I conferences. Green Bay is the highest ranked Horizon League women’s basketball team at 31, just a few spots ahead of IUPUI, who checks in at 38.
• For the third straight week, three #HLWBB teams are ranked in the College Insider Mid-Major Top 25, with one more team receiving votes. Green Bay is ranked 12, Wright State checks in at 13, IUPUI is 23, and Youngstown State received 19 votes this week.
• Youngstown State has only committed 104 fouls this season, the second-fewest in the nation. The Penguins are number one in the country with just 11.6 personal fouls per game.
• Wright State ranks ninth nationally in rebounding, totaling 480 rebounds this season.
• Preseason Player of the Year IUPUI’s Macee Williams ranks 21st in the country with 64 free throw attempts this season and is 22nd with 76 field goals made this season. Williams is also 31st in points per game (20.1).
• Alison Smolinski ranks in the top ten nationally in both three-point field goals made (37) and three-point field goals per game (4.11). Teammate Melinda Trimmer is 12th in assist/turnover ratio (3.30).
