Nike #HLMBB Players of the Week (December 17)
INDIANAPOLIS – Milwaukee redshirt junior DeAndre Abram averaged a double-double and shot over 60 percent from the floor to be named Nike® #HLMBB Player of the Week, while Cleveland State’s Rashad Williams recorded 25 points off the bench with seven 3-pointers to earn Nike® #HLMBB Freshman of the Week as the Horizon League announced its men’s basketball weekly honors on Monday.

Abram led Milwaukee to a 2-0 week with back-to-back double-doubles against UMKC and Wisconsin Lutheran. The redshirt junior averaged 22.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game for the week, shooting 63.0 percent (17-27) from the floor and 60 percent (9-15) from 3-point range. Abram went for 20 points and 10 rebounds against UMKC, playing a key role in the 69-66 comeback victory over the Roos on the road. He hit a triple and grabbed a key rebound that led to a fast break dunk during MKE’s 12-0 run to end the game and seal the win. He just missed his career high against WLC on Sunday, leading the charge with a 25 points and 11 boards. For the week, Abram ranked third in the HL in scoring, second in rebounding and sixth in both field goal percentage and 3-point field goal percentage.

Rashad Williams | Cleveland State | Freshman | Guard | Detroit, Mich.
Williams had a breakout performance and nearly led the Vikings to an upset win at Illinois State before falling in overtime. The rookie had a season-high 25 points in just 25 minutes off the bench, producing a highly efficient shooting performance. He went 8-of-12 from the field, including 7-of-11 from 3-point range, while making both of his free throw attempts. In doing so, Williams set a CSU freshman record with his seven made 3-pointers. Williams ranked second in points for the week among all Horizon League players and also tied for the most made 3-pointers.
