INDIANAPOLIS – Wright State’s Mackenzie Taylor was named the MVP of the Challenge in the Music City Broadway bracket after leading the Raiders to a tournament victory and perfect 3-0 record. Taylor is the #HLWBB Nike® Player of the Week. Cleveland State’s Savanna Crockett averaged double-digit points and rebounds for the Vikings this week to earn #HLWBB Nike® Freshman of the Week honors.

Mackenzie Taylor scored in double figures in all three of Wright State’s three games in the Challenge in Music City this week, as they would go on to win the Broadway Bracket with a 3-0 record. Taylor set a new career-high in scoring on Friday as she dropped 24 against Hofstra, shooting nine of 13 from the floor and five of seven from beyond the arc. The senior followed that performance up a day later by putting up 17 against Stetson in another Wright State victory. The Indiana native rounded out the week by adding 10 points and three assists against Marist. Taylor also set single-game career-highs in rebounds (5), assists (3), free throws made (8), 3-point field goals made (5), and minutes played (38) in Wright State’s three wins this week.

Savanna Crockett averaged 12.3 points and a team-high 10.0 rebounds per game against Illinois State, San Diego and Tulane. The freshman recorded back-to-back double-doubles against San Diego and Tulane, finishing with 15 points and 13 rebounds against San Diego and 14 points and 10 rebounds against Tulane. Crockett shot 59-percent from the floor on the week, including a .875 clip against Tulane.
