Nike #HLMBB Players of the Week (November 26)
INDIANAPOLIS – Detroit Mercy freshman guard Antoine Davis led the Titans to a 3-0 week after averaging over 32 points a game on 63 percent shooting from behind the 3-point line and earned the Legends Classic Subregional MVP to be named Nike® #HLMBB Player and Freshman of the Week as the Horizon League announced its men’s basketball weekly honors on Monday. Davis is the second player to be named both player and freshman of the week since the League began naming a weekly newcomer in the 2012-13 season, joining Oakland’s Isaiah Brock who accomplished the feat during the 2016-17 season.

Davis helped Detroit Mercy to a 3-0 week, a Legends Classic Subregional title and a road win at in-state rival Eastern Michigan – who was picked to win the MAC East. He averaged 32.7 points, 6.0 assists, 5.3 rebounds and 1.0 steals, while shooting 50.8 percent from the field (33-65), 63.2 percent from behind the arc (24-38) and 88.9 percent at the free throw line (8-9). He posted three 20-plus point outings with a Detroit Mercy freshman record 42 points against Loyola Maryland, the sixth most in a single-game in school history, 32 points with six assists versus Bowling Green and 24 points with a team-high seven rebounds and seven assists at EMU. He is currently second in the nation in scoring at 30.0 points per game, while topping the country with 39 triples on the season. For the week, Davis led the League in scoring, while ranking fourth in assists, 10th in 3-point field goal percentage on 38 attempts, 13th in assist-to-turnover ratio and also top-15 in rebounding.
