Nike #HLWBB Players of the Week (November 12)
INDIANAPOLIS – IUPUI’s Macee Williams averaged 18.5 points and eight rebounds this week including a 23-point, 12-rebound performance at Ole Miss in a six point road win to be named the #HLWBB Nike® Player of the Week. Wright State’s Angel Baker made an impressive showing in her first collegiate action averaging 18 points over a two-game west coast swing that including a 68-52 win at UNLV where she scored 15 and shot 6-for-9 from the floor to earn #HLWBB Nike® Freshman of the Week honors.

Williams led the Jags to a 2-0 week that included a 66-58 win over Ole Miss on the road. For the week, the sophomore averaged 18.5 points per game and eight rebounds per contest. Williams started off the season with a 14-point outing on 6-of-8 shooting and pulled in four rebounds in just 16 minutes, as the Jags crushed Purdue Northwest 101-40. Three days later, Williams led IUPUI to a huge win at Ole Miss, scoring a game-high 23 points going 6-for-9 from the free throw line, making crucial free throws down the stretch to ice the game. Williams picked up her first double-double of the season against the Rebels with 12 rebounds, including seven on the offensive end.

In her first collegiate game, on the road against CSU Bakersfield on Tuesday, Angel Baker shot 8-for-11, scoring 21 points in just over 20 minutes of game action off the bench. Baker followed that excellent showing up with a 15-point effort in a win over UNLV Friday night. She went 6-for-9 from the floor in the contest, bringing her season field-goal percentage to 70 percent and finished the week averaging 18 points per contest.
