(Jan. 20, 2018) — Milwaukee snapped Wright State’s eight-game win streak on Saturday night, 66-61, while Northern Kentucky, UIC, Oakland, and Youngstown State also earned victories. The Horizon League’s leading scorer, Kendrick Nunn, who is averaging 30.1 points per game through eight league contests, scored a career-high 38 points in Oakland’s 92-86 win over rival Detroit Mercy. Meanwhile, UIC’s Tai Odiase and Green Bay’s Khalil Small each eclipsed the 1,000-career point milestone in their respective contests.
 
@NKUNorseMBB earns 77-65 road win over Green Bay
(Courtesy of NKUNorse.com) — GREEN BAY, Wis. — Lavone Holland IItook over during a stretch of the second half and led the Northern Kentucky men's basketball team to a 77-65 win over the Green Bay Phoenix on Saturday afternoon. The Norse move to 14-6 overall and 7-1 in the Horizon League. Green Bay falls to 8-15 and 3-7 in League play.

UIC rolls to triumph at Cleveland State

(Courtesy of UICFlames.com) — CLEVELAND — UIC went on the road and picked up another Horizon League victory Saturday afternoon, toppling Cleveland State, 87-80. It is the third consecutive win away from home for the Flames (10-11, 5-3 Horizon League). With five wins in the first eight conference games, UIC is off to its best start in conference play since the 2012-13 campaign. The three consecutive road wins mark the first three-game winning streak away from home since the 2008-09 season.

Nunn's career night leads Oakland past Detroit Mercy, 92-86

(Courtesy of GoldenGrizzlies.com) — DETROIT — Kendrick Nunn scored a career high 38 points on 12 of 26 shooting, including eight of 15 from beyond the arc as the Oakland men's basketball team defeated in-state rival Detroit Mercy 92-86 Saturday at Calihan Hall. Nunn, who registered his eighth 30-point performance of the season, tied his career high with 12 field goals made and eight three-pointers. His 38 points is the third-most points scored against the Titans in their program’s history by an opposing player.

Tenacious defensive effort pushes Penguins past IUPUI, 85-62

(Courtesy of YSUSports.com) — YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — The Youngstown State men's basketball team used an inspired defensive performance and had four players score in double figures as the Penguins beat IUPUI 85-62 on Saturday night at the Beeghly Center. YSU's defense forced 16 turnovers and turned them into 23 points. The Guins also cleaned up on the glass outrebounding IUPUI 39-18. YSU had just as many offensive rebounds for the night as Jaguars had total rebounds.

Panthers hand Raiders first Horizon League loss, 66-61
