#HLWBB Players of the Week: Jan. 15

INDIANAPOLIS- Milwaukee senior guard Jenny Lindner posted a total of 34 points, collected three steals and earned 20 rebounds on the weekend as the Panthers downed Cleveland State, 79-72, and defeated Youngstown State 62-61, to improve to 3-2 in league play. Lindner is the Horizon League Women’s Basketball Player of the Week. IUPUI’s Macee Williams averaged her third double-double this week as the Jags improved to 5-0 in league play with two wins at home against Detroit Mercy and Oakland, earning Williams Freshman of the Week recognition for the fifth time this season.

Milwaukee returned home for the first time in a month last week and Jenny Lindner led her team to a pair of conference wins. On Thursday, Lindner notched her 16th career double-double in front of 2,610 fans with 19 points, 11 rebounds and three steals while shooting 8-10 from the floor, proving to be the catalyst in erasing a 15-point deficit. She followed that up with by just missing another double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds in another comeback win - this time over Youngstown State.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK | MACEE WILLIAMS | IUPUI | FRESHMAN | FORWARD/CENTER | VEEDERSBURG, IND.
Williams continues to dominate in the paint for the Jags as the freshman averaged 21 points over the last week as IUPUI moved to 5-0 in conference play with wins against Detroit Mercy and Oakland. Against Detroit Mercy, Williams shot 6-for-8 from the field and was a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line as she finished with 18 points despite only playing 17 minutes due to early foul trouble. Williams outdid herself against Oakland, leading the Jags with a career-high 24 points and pulling down 10 rebounds for her third double-double of the season. Williams went 9-for-10 from the floor and 6-for-7 from the free throw line against the Golden Grizzlies and also added three steals. For the week, Williams shot 83.3 percent from the field and a sizzling 92.3 percent from the free throw line.
