(Jan. 10, 2018) — The home teams went 4-0 in Horizon League men’s basketball action on Wednesday night, with Detroit Mercy and IUPUI benefiting from late-game heroics. Corey Allen scored a game-high 25 points, including the game-winning basket in the closing seconds, to help UDM snap an 11-game losing streak with an 85-84 victory over Cleveland State. Meanwhile, IUPUI’s Evan Hall beat the buzzer with a game-winning putback to propel the Jaguars past Milwaukee, 72-71. Oakland and UIC also earned victories, with Kendrick Nunn recording his eighth-consecutive game of 20 or more points for Oakland, and UIC’s Dikembe Dixson tallying a game-high 23 points in the Flames’ win.

DETROIT — Sophomore Corey Allen tallied a game-high 25 points and the University of Detroit Mercy men's basketball team shot over 50.0 percent in the second half as the Titans defeated Cleveland State, 85-84, on Wednesday night. Allen was 9-of-14 from the field with four 3-pointers, while registering eight rebounds and five assists. Graduate senior Roschon Prince posted 19 points and eight rebounds and junior Josh McFolley netted 13 points and had two steals.

Hall's putback at buzzer lifts IUPUI over Milwaukee, 72-71

INDIANAPOLIS — Evan Hall made his second shot of the game on a putback at the buzzer to push IUPUI past Milwaukee 72-71 on Wednesday night for its first Horizon League victory. IUPUI trailed 71-70 with six seconds left following back-to-back dunks from Milwaukee's Bryce Nze and Brett Prahl. On the final possession, Nick Rogersdrove the baseline and missed the layup, but Hall snagged the ball from the defender's hands and banked in the game-winner.

Nunn sends Oakland past Youngstown State, 95-82

ROCHESTER, Mich. — Kendrick Nunn scored 26 points with six 3-pointers and Jalen Hayes scored 20 points with 10 rebounds and Oakland beat Youngstown State 95-82 on Wednesday.

CHICAGO — UIC's relentless offense started each half on significant scoring runs as the Flames (7-10, 2-2 HL) defeated Green Bay (7-12, 2-4 HL) 84-73 Wednesday night at UIC Pavilion. The Flames shot nearly 60% on the evening and placed four players in double figures, led by Dikembe Dixson's team-high 23.
