(Dec. 22, 2017) — Wright State tallied 54 second-half points en route to earning a come-from-behind, 85-81 win at ACC opponent Georgia Tech on Friday. The Raiders, who have won eight of their last 10 contests, were led by senior guard Grant Benzinger, who poured in a season-high 22 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the field and 90-percent (9-of-10) marksmanship from the foul line. Redshirt seniors Jalen Hayes and Kendrick Nunn combined to score 57 of Oakland’s 86 points as the Grizzlies improved to 6-0 at home with an 86-81 win over Eastern Michigan. Hayes shot 67 percent (14-of-21) from the field and 82 percent (9-of-11) from the charity stripe en route to tallying a career-high 37 points. IUPUI also found the win column on Friday as the Jags defeated IU-Kokomo, 87-76. Junior guard and Indianapolis native, T.J. Henderson, came off the bench to lead IUPUI with a career-high 19 points (8-of-12 FG).

Henderson's career-high gives Jaguars 87-76 win

INDIANAPOLIS — After a road-trip that took the IUPUI men's basketball team out to Washington, the Jaguars returned home to snap their six-game losing streak. The Jaguars played their first game in the Jungle since 2014, and defeated IU Kokomo, 87-76. Junior T.J. Henderson led the way with a career-high 19 points and senior Ron Patterson tossed in 16.

Hayes' 37 leads Oakland past Eastern Michigan, 86-81

ROCHESTER, Mich. — Jalen Hayes led all scorers with a career high 37 points as the Oakland men’s basketball team defeated Eastern Michigan 86-81 Friday night in front of 3,661 fans, the largest home crowd of the season inside the O'rena. Hayes went 14-for-21 from the floor and added eight rebounds. Kendrick Nunn recorded 20 points and dished out six assists. Martez Walker and Nick Daniels rounded out the double-digit scoring performances for Oakland chipping in 12 and 10 points respectively.

Titans edged by Murray State

DETROIT — Freshman Jermaine Jackson Jr. and redshirt junior Kameron Chatmanled three Titans in double figures with 16 points as the University of Detroit Mercy men's basketball team peppered Murray State all game long, but the Racers were able to come away with a 81-72 win at Calihan Hall on Friday night. The Titans had three players score in double figures and nine players score on the night. The game was the final non-conference affair for the Titans.

Broncos edge Panthers in final minute, 66-63

MILWAUKEE — Brock Stull scored 23 points and the Milwaukee men's basketball team nearly overcame an 11-point deficit in the final 5:50 before falling at the buzzer to Western Michigan, 66-63, Friday night at UWM Panther Arena. The Panthers (7-6) trailed the Broncos (7-5) by double-figures in the first half as well, but battled back to lead by as many as five in the second half before the visitors used a key scoring run to take control.

Strong second half leads Wright State past Georgia Tech on the road
ATLANTA — After trailing 40-31 at intermission, Wright State tallied 54 second-half points en route to earning a come-from-behind, 85-81 win at ACC opponent Georgia Tech. Senior Grant Benzinger led the Raiders with 22 points on 5-of-9 shooting. Loudon Love (16 points, 12 rebounds) and Justin Mitchell (15 points, 10 rebounds) posted their fourth and second double-doubles, respectively. Playing in his third game as a Raider, redshirt-sophomore point guard Cole Gentry saw 22 minutes of action off the bench, connecting on four of his six attempts from 3-point range to tally 12 points.
