INDIANAPOLIS -- Wright State senior Martin Arguello (Foz do Iguace, Brazil) has been named Horizon League Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week, while UIC senior Teona Tsertsvadze (Tbilisi, Georgia) has earned Horizon League Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week honors, for the week of Feb. 27-March 4.

Seeds held on the opening night of the Horizon League Men’s Basketball Championship, with the home teams claiming wins on Tuesday night, setting up rematches that each featured nail-biting finishes in the regular season. Detroit will meet Youngstown State, while Butler will take on Milwaukee.

After one of the most balanced Horizon League men’s basketball regular seasons in conference history, the exciting carries over to the League Tournament, with perhaps the most wide open field in the tournament’s 33 years.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Valparaiso senior catcher Jordan Rutkowski (Alden, N.Y.) has been named Horizon League Softball Player of the Week, while Wright State sophomore Krystian DeWitt (Pacifica, Calif.) has earned Horizon League Softball Pitcher of the Week honors, for the week of Feb. 20-26.

The Green Bay women’s basketball team clinched its 14^th consecutive regular season Horizon League championship on Saturday after the Phoenix dispatched Butler to move to 15-1 in League play.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Day One of the Horizon League Indoor Track and Field Championships were highlighted by five record-breaking performances.

About the only thing that was decided in Horizon League men’s basketball games on Thursday was that nothing was decided. After 17 games each, five teams are within one game of each other entering the last weekend of conference play.

Three days’ worth of games are left in the Horizon League men’s basketball regular season. And with five teams within two games of one another, plenty is left to be decided as to whom will be playing where come Tuesday, Feb. 28 when the Horizon League Men’s Basketball Championship begins.

The 12^th-ranked Green Bay women’s basketball team  jumped on visiting Valparaiso early in cruising to a win Thursday night. The victory improved GB’s record to 14-1 in conference play and guaranteed the Phoenix at least a share of their 14^th consecutive Horizon League regular season title.
