MILWAUKEE, Wis. -- Behind a career effort from Kendrick Perry, Youngstown State collected a key Horizon League win on Tuesday night, knocking off Milwaukee, 73-65, at U.S. Cellular Arena.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Pushing Detroit to an unbeaten week, sophomore guard Ray McCallum (Beverly Hills, Mich./Detroit Country Day) has been named the Horizon League Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, for the week of Jan. 23-29. The honor is the second of McCallum’s young career and first of this season.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Honoring student-athletes for their success both in competition and in the classroom, the Horizon League announced its 2011 Fall Academic All-League Teams on Monday. A total of 54 student-athletes from five fall sports were honored in balloting by the League’s faculty athletics representatives and sports information directors.

INDIANAPOLIS -- The Horizon League earned two television games in the 2012 BracketBusters, ESPN announced on Jan. 30. Cleveland State, the fifth-rated home team in the event, hosts Drexel, while Valparaiso will head to Los Angeles to meet Loyola Marymount.

The top of the Horizon League standings gained some clarity on Saturday, while the middle of the pack tightened even further, with Cleveland State, Valparaiso and Green Bay grabbing victories.

One of three teams will be on top of the Horizon League come Sunday morning: Cleveland State, Milwaukee or Valparaiso. That much is certain. But starting on Friday night, the standings could see plenty of shifting as five key Horizon League games get underway.
