INDIANAPOLIS -- Butler University junior Jessica Wolfe has been named Horizon League Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week, while Cleveland State University senior Maggie Bonomini has earned Defensive Player of the Week honors for the period of Aug. 31-Sept. 6.
Wolfe, an outside hitter from Plainfield, Ind., collected 75 kills (4.69 kps) and hit .282 for the Bulldogs last week. She also registered six blocks, 35 digs and 81.5 points (5.09 pps) in 16 sets.
Wolfe was named to the Marquette Invitational All-Tournament Team after helping Butler to 3-0 wins over Binghamton University and Texas State University on Saturday.
Bonomini, a libero from Cincinnati, Ohio, earns the honor for a second straight week after recording 62 digs (4.13 dps) in 15 sets for the Vikings.
Bonomini managed a season-best 26 digs in Cleveland State's 3-2 upset of Syracuse University on Saturday. She also helped CSU roll to a 3-0 blanking of Robert Morris University on Tuesday.
Butler (6-3) returns to action on Wednesday when it travels to cross-town rival Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis for a match at 7 p.m. ET. Cleveland State (6-2) is back on the hardwood Friday when it battles Howard University in Cullowhee, N.C., at 2:30 p.m.
