Valparaiso secured at least a share of the Horizon League regular season title and ensured itself a top-two seed at the Little Caesars Horizon League Men’s Basketball Championship with a Friday night road win at Wright State. Oakland won its eighth straight game and secured a top-two seed at Motor City Madness. Northern Kentucky topped UIC and kept itself in contention for the No. 3 seed, while Detroit Mercy knocked of Milwaukee.
Valparaiso 84, at Wright State 74*
DAYTON, Ohio (AP) -- Shane Hammink scored 25 points and Valparaiso pulled away inside four minutes for an 84-74 victory over Wright State on Friday night.
Valparaiso took the lead for good with nine minutes left, and stretched its lead to 67-60 with 7:35 remaining. Wright State used a 13-7 surge to pull to 74-73 with 3:35 remaining. Hammink converted a 3-point play and had four points during a 10-1 run to end it.
Lexus Williams added 19 points and Tevonn Walker 17 for Valparaiso. Mark Alstork scored 28 points to lead the Raiders.

Oakland 85, at Green Bay 72*
GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Jalen Hayes scored 22 points on 10-of-15 shooting and grabbed 10 rebounds, Sherron Dorsey-Walker added 19 points and Oakland distanced itself from Green Bay at the end for an 85-72 win Friday night for its eighth straight win.
Kameron Hankerson's 3-pointer tied the game at 67 with five minutes remaining before Oakland (23-7, 13-4 Horizon League) closed with an 18-5 run while making 6 of its last 7 shots. Green Bay (17-12, 11-6) made just 2 of its last 9 attempts.
Martez Walker added 17 points for the Golden Grizzlies, which shot 32 for 58 (55 percent). The Phoenix finished 28 for 69 (41 percent) and made just 4 for 19 (21) from 3-point range.
Oakland dominated the interior with a 50-38 scoring advantage.

at Northern Kentucky 90, UIC 82*
HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. (AP) -- Drew McDonald scored 27 points with nine rebounds and Northern Kentucky defeated Illinois-Chicago 90-82 on Friday night for its 20th victory.
Lavone Holland II added 19 points and six assists, Cole Murray made four 3-pointers and scored 16 points and Mason Falkner added 13 points for the Norse (20-10, 11-6), who are tied for third with Green Bay in the Horizon League with a game remaining. UIC (7-10, 14-16) is sixth.
The Flames' Marcus Ottey tied the game at 80 with 1:29 to go but then was called for a flagrant foul with Holland making both free throws and Dantez Walton scoring after the Norse kept possession. Those five points began a 10-2 run to end a game that saw 23 lead changes.

Detroit Mercy 81, at Milwaukee 74*
MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Josh McFolley shot 12 of 12 from the free-throw line and finished with 22 points to lead Detroit Mercy to an 81-74 victory over Milwaukee on Friday night.
Detroit took the lead for good with 16:29 to play, and had a nine-point lead with three minutes left. A 12-7 spurt, capped by Jeremy Johnson's 3-pointer, pulled Milwaukee to 75-71 with 44 seconds remaining. The Titans made 6 of 7 free throws to seal it.
Jaleel Hogan scored 13 points and Chris Jenkins added 12 points and 13 rebounds for Detroit (8-21, 6-11 Horizon League), which shot 84 percent (26 of 31) from the line.
