Sophomore Raj Duggal posted first-place finishes in both the 500-yard and 1,000-yard freestyle events with times of 4:58.59 and 10:12.14, respectively, at Valparaiso on Oct. 16.

Senior Erin Carter won the 200-yard backstroke with a career-best time of 2:12.87 as the Youngstown State swimming and diving team opened its season Sunday with a double-dual with Marshall and Radford. Her time ranks her second all-time in school history in the event. She added third-place finishes in the 200 fly (2:14.13) and the 200 individual medley (2:14.11).
