INDIANAPOLIS - Detroit junior Britt Pronk and Youngstown State sophomore Samantha Formeck have been named Horizon League Golfers of the Week for the period of March 10-16. Formeck's award marks her second in as many weeks.
Pronk placed second out of 62 individuals (77-69=146) at the Mission Inn Spring Fling in Howey in the Hills, Fla. The Titans (307-297=604) finished fourth in the 10-team event.
Pronk, a native of London, Ontario, registered the tournament's best round on Sunday to finish just four over par. The 69 was also just one off his career best.
Formeck placed second out of 83 golfers (80-75=155) at the NIU Snowbird Intercollegiate in Tampa, Fla. The Penguins (322-328=650) finished second in the 13-team competition.
Formeck, a native of Northern Cambria, Pa., was YSU's top finisher for the second straight week and came within two strokes of medalist honors at the event.
