Milwaukee leads the men's and women's competitions after the first day of the 2010 Horizon League Indoor Track & Field Championships. This year's event at the University of Michigan Indoor Track Building wraps up on Sunday.

On the men's side, Milwaukee (57 points) leads Butler (25), Detroit (20), Loyola (18), UIC (16), Youngstown (12), and Valparaiso (6).

On the women's side, Milwaukee (77 points) leads Wright State (31), Butler (29), UIC (13), Loyola (12), Detroit (12), Youngstown State (10), and Valparaiso (2).

Saturday's action featured two new indoor championship records. Wright State sophomore Cassandra Lloyd turned in an 8.46 in the 60-meter hurdles, while Detroit junior Earnest Cleary recorded a 6.83 in the 60 meter.

Other men's event champions included Butler junior Madison Roeder in the 5,000 meter (14:36.08), Milwaukee senior Quinn Mongoven in the long jump (7.08 meters), Loyola senior Michael Jarman in the weight throw (19.34 meters), Butler's distance medley relay team (10:08.93), and Milwaukee sophomore Ben Crogan in the pole vault (4.75 meters).

Other women's event champions included Butler's distance medley relay team (11:59.60), Milwaukee senior Beth Zimmerman in the long jump (5.67 meters), Butler freshman Lauren McKillip in the 5,000 meter (17:30.22), and Wright State freshman Erica Kemp in the pole vault (3.55 meters).

Crogan took two of four events in the heptathlon (shot put and high jump), while Milwaukee senior Jenni Parish claimed three of five competitions in the pentathlon (high jump, shot put and long jump) winning the event with 3,695 points.

Competition begins on Sunday at 9 a.m. ET.
