INDIANAPOLIS- Cleveland State setter Gina Kilner led the Vikings to a 2-0 record this week, assisting the squad to a .374 hitting percentage. Kilner is the Horizon League Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week. UIC libero Carla Salvato helped the Flames to a perfect 4-0 week, averaging 5.75 digs per set to claim this week’s Horizon League Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week recognition.

Kilner was named to the All-Tournament Team after averaging 11.67 assists per set in Cleveland State's two sweeps against Central Michigan and Indiana State. She tallied a combined 70 assists on the weekend, becoming the fifth Viking all-time to record 3500 career assists. The senior helped the Vikings to a .374 hitting percentage on the weekend, including a season-high .381 clip against Indiana State.

Carla Salvato was steady in the back row as she helped the Flames win four matches over three days in two different cities. The libero was named to the CEFCU Classic All-Tournament Team as she averaged 5.75 digs per set and UIC went 3-0 against Bradley and Murray State, Sept. 8-9. Salvato set a career high with 31 digs in a 3-2 win over the Braves on Sept. 8. It was only the 15th time in program history that a UIC player has registered at least 30 digs in a match and the first since Oct. 26, 2012, when Maggie Strus dug 32 attacks against Cleveland State. In the weekend finale against Chicago State, Salvato added 17 digs in a sweep of the Cougars.
