Cross Country Finishes Competition at ISU Invite Men's Results | Women's Results
NORMAL, Ill. – The UIC men’s and women’s cross country teams competed in the second annual Country Financial Illinois State Invite on Friday. The women participated in the 5K race, while the men competed in the 8K race. Both squads finished in sixth place.
"As a team I didn't feel we responded as well as we should have against great competition," head coach Jim Knoedel said. "Both the men and women need to close the time span between our top five if we are to have success." Read more
Woods Breaks 19 Minutes At BGSU Invitational -- Results
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Ashlyn Woods became just the second Viking to break the 19-minute 5K mark over the past 10 seasons, leading the Cleveland State cross country team to a fourth place finish at the BGSU Mel Brodt Invitational. Along with Woods, three additional runners posted sub 20-minute times.
"Everyone had an awesome race today, four runners were able to break 20-minutes, including Ashlyn and Katie who recorded lifetime-best marks," head coach Joe Jaketic said. "Everyone from top to bottom in the lineup had a great performance, and they can finally see all of their hard work that they put in during practice paying off. It was a nice day to run, and the course was a bit soft, but everyone adjusted and ran extremely well." Read more
Mauel, Bilitz Pace the Phoenix at UW-Parkside Midwest Open Men's Results | Women's Results
KENOSHA, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – Junior Sarah Mauel (Green Bay, Wis.) posted a top-10 finish on Saturday as the Green Bay cross country teams competed at the UW-Parkside Midwest Cross Country Open. The men and women both finished in seventh place at Green Bay’s second meet of the season.
It was Mauel’s second tenth place finish in as many meets this season. The junior finished the course in 18:56.6. Sophomore Breanna Suess (Luxemburg, Wis.) was the second finisher on Green Bay in 21st place (19:26.9). Read more
Paulson Shines At Parkside -- Men's Results
Somers, Wis. - Marcus Paulson continued his strong start to the season, winning his second race in a row as the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's cross country team had another outstanding showing at the Midwest Open Saturday afternoon at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside's Dannehl National Cross Country Course.
UWM finished the meet with 51 points for second place, behind only the host Parkside. Milwaukee finished ahead of both conference opponents on the day with Oakland taking third with 62 points and Green Bay placing seventh at 192. Read more
Milwaukee Finishes Strong At Midwest Open -- Women's Results
Somers, Wis. - Leah Holmes, Sammy Woller and Annette Lemanski all finished in the top-10 to give the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's cross country team a solid showing at the Midwest Open hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Parkside at the Dannehl National Cross Country Course Saturday.
UWM finished the day with 91 points for third place overall, just behind conference foe Oakland at 65 and well ahead of rival Green Bay at 167. Parkside won the meet with 31 points. Read more
