Valparaiso made quick work of Chicago State Wednesday night, cruising to a 19-point victory to improve to 10-3 for the season and wrap up the 13th consecutive winning season for the Horizon League in nonconference play. Senior Alec Peters became the second player in program history to surpass the 2,000-point mark (Bryce Drew) and now sits in 10th place in Horizon League history with 2,014 career points.

VALPARAISO, Ind. (AP) -- Shane Hammink scored 22 points and Valparaiso posted an 80-61 win over Chicago State.

Alec Peters finished with 15 points and a game-high 14 rebounds while Tevonn Walker added 12 and six boards for the Crusaders (10-3), who have won seven of nine and open Horizon League play Friday against UIC.
