INDIANAPOLIS - Green Bay junior Austin Ehlenfeldt and Youngstown State junior Katie Rogner have been named Horizon League Golfers of the Week for the period of April 14-20.
Ehlenfeldt picked up his first tournament win of the season at the Detroit Titan Invitational last week. The Beaver Dam, Wis., native, shot a three-round score of 217 (+1) with 18-hole rounds of 70-73-74. Ehlenfeldt helped the Phoenix to a school-record fourth tournament title as Green Bay placed first among 14 teams.
Rogner played in the Ohio State Lady Buckeye, which featured some of the nation’s top talent, including nine Big Ten programs. The Warren, Ohio native, turned in a 54-hole effort of 243 (83-80-80) to pace Youngstown State for the tournament. Rogner finished within the top half of the field placing 32nd out of 74 individuals.
The 2010 Horizon League Golf Championships are set to begin on Saturday, April 24 with the women’s competition while the men commence on Monday, April 26.
