INDIANAPOLIS - Wright State senior Nick Camilleri and UIC senior Elena Antakova have been named Horizon League Tennis Players of the Week for the period of March 29-April 4.
Camilleri, a native of Melbourne, Australia, helped Wright State go 2-0 over the weekend. He posted wins at No. 1 singles against Dayton (6-4, 6-6) on Thursday and Green Bay (6-1, 6-3) on Saturday. Goosens also paired with Mikkel Kruusmagi to register an 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles versus Green Bay.
Antakova, a native of Izhevsk, Russia, went 4-0 on the weekend with two wins at No. 4 singles and two more at No. 2 doubles. She defeated Youngstown State (6-3, 6-2) on Saturday and Cleveland State (3-6, 6-1, 6-1) on Sunday. Antakova also teamed with Ilinca Cristescu to register 8-2 (YSU) and 8-5 (CSU) doubles wins.
League play continues this week when the Wright State men host Butler on Thursday and the UIC women travel to Valparaiso on Saturday.
